The Baseball America Prospect Hot Sheet is out and heading the list is every fantasy expert's favorite prospect-blocked-by-a-nonsabremetrically-productive-player, Jay Bruce of the Cincinnati Reds. I am not sure what his production would look like in Cincinnati given he isn't taking walks at AAA (11 with 145 ABs) and has struck out 34 times.
This week's Baseball America Prospect Hot Sheet is lead by Baltimore Orioles' catcher Matt Wieters. He is absolutely dominating High A and should soon get the bump to AA. A successful July and August in Double-A could see him with a September cup of coffee in anticipation of the 2009 Spring Training rookie hype that attended Jay Bruce, Chase Headley and Evan Longoria this past Spring.
This week's Prospect Hot Sheet from Baseball America has a few names fantasy owners need to know. For keeper leagues, these are guys who have to be grabbed this season for next year's keepers. For redraft leagues, these are the players who will be receiving the rookie hype in the march towards 2009 drafts.
This week Atlanta Braves' OF Jayson Heyward tops Baseball America's Prospect Hot Sheet . In what must have a been a coin-flip of a decision, Milwaukees Brewers' AA 3B Mat Gamel ranked second. Heyward's line was 462/516/846, and Gamel's was 484/500/806. Third on the list was last season's #1 overall pick, David Price.
With the major league draft occuring this afternoon, Baseball America has a special edition of their Prospect Hot Sheet available now that covers the top minor leaguers through May. It does not include a prospect who has dominated over his first three professional starts, though. Tampa Bay Rays' prospect David Price did not log enough playing time to qualify.
Yesterday the All-Rookie teams were announced and (again) Dominic McGuire was blackballed out of any votes. That's the bad news, the good is that Nick Young was much closer to make the All-Rookie team than anyone on the team was to making the All-Defensive team. Had he made it, he would've been the first Wizards to make it since Jarvis Hayes back in 2004.

This week's Hot Sheet is lead by Kansas Royals' 2007 1st round pick, Mike Moustakas. After a one HR April with a slashstat line of 190/253/226, his celing looked a lot lower. Now he has 20 HRs in his first full season and has a slashstat line of 267/330/472 in the hitter unfriendly Midwest League.
The Yankeeshave acquiredNick Swisher for a couple Wheaties coupons and a prize from a Cracker Jack box. The domino effect? This could take the Yankees out of the running for Mark Teixeira. Consider the cast of characters that can/could/should? spend time at 1B and DH for the Yanks next season:

So, apparently the members of the Padres marketing team aren’t the only ones lying around the office eating truffles and drinking martinis. From what I could find, only fourteen of the teams took the time (and not much of it considering some of these) to come up with a slogan for the 2008 season.

This year’s team captains were announced Defensive Captains: Shaun Ellis & Kerry Rhodes Offensive Captains: Alan Faneca & Brett Favre Special Teams Captains: Leon Washington & David Bowens The Defensive captains were expected, and the special teams captains seem right.
Using random guesses, hunches, wishcasting, and general skullduggery. You can, as I frequently note, get extremely close to a good projection using a player’s three-year average. Therefore! C-R: Johjima. No change. I still (as always) think he might outdo himself, but .
David Cook est un rockeur de 25 ans et il affrontait David Archuleta âgé de 17 ans en finale d'American Idol, et c'est avec 56% des 96 millions de votes qu'il gagne!

Here's a strange steam-powered kinetic sculpture by Alan Rorie, who works under the name Almost Scientific. He explains: The Dihemispheric Chronaether Agitator is a kinetic, "steampunk" sculpture of a "time machine" that is powered by a real steam boiler and steam engine. It was built in collaboration with my good friends at Kinetic Steam Works.
