January was a roller coaster of a month and once more, we’re ending it with a few lists. FIRE Finance has produced their Top PF Bloggers list for December 2007, and things have shuffled about a little. We even made it to the list with a nice mention from the FIRE Finance team, along with a reminder that for you bloggers out there, it would be good for your traffic numbers if you take steps to get your stats counted by Quantcast and Compete (via tracking scripts and plugins) so that ranking exercises like those undertaken by FIRE Finance can reflect your numbers accurately.

Hey everyone, just wanted to wish you all a very safe and happy New Year 2008! Be safe, don’t drink and drive, etc etc. You know the drill). In case anyone was wondering, I will possibly do a couple of posts tomorrow afternoon (Jan 1st), although most people will probably be sleeping off their hangovers and/or late nights.
Ahhhh! I did nothing on yesterday’s mid-holidays Saturday other than lie on my couch with my daughter watching HBO Family movies all day. Bliss! The Blackberry, cell phone, and email were all thankfully silent. Of course, that can change at any moment, but I enjoyed the unusual lazing around.
happy new year:

Guest post by DRJ] Happy New Year from Australia: SCORCHING temperatures all across the southeast of the country set the tone for an explosive welcome to 2008 last night, as hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets, parks and beaches to see in the new year. From Iraq:

Another year has come and gone. And among all the tragedy and triumph, controversy and congratulations, we've survived. Amid the injuries, comebacks, and retirements, steroid allegations, tell-all books, broken records and amazing plays, the same thing keeps us coming back for more. We salivate.
To one and all, I wish you a very, very Happy New Year. And now. a drinking song. Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne. And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
December 2007 Roundup I’m really late getting this roundup out, but the past month has been chaotic, to say the least. The past week or so since I’ve been home has been all about trying to find a doctor to treat a minor surgical complication (no luck yet), and figuring out what is OK and what isn’t OK to eat (ah, self-discovery!
Symfony continues polishing its components before the long-awaited launch of 1. version. During this week, 45 defects and 37 enhancements have been closed and the cache framework has been refactored. New milestone for symfony: more than 300 websites around the world publicly declare that they use symfony.
Happy New Year 2008! For those brave enough to venture out into the skreets, hope you found your way home safe and sound. Thank you for putting TSF on the map in 2007. Let’s go all the way live in 2008 in everything we do in every single moment of every single day! Lets Get It!
Happy New Year Politique US, Election 2008 Conclusion de l’édito du New York Times en date du 31 décembre 2007, après un passage en revue des maux de la présidence Bush : We can only hope that this time, unlike 2004, American voters will have the wisdom to grant the awesome powers of the presidency to someone who has the integrity, principle and decency to use them honorably.
Just like last weekend, I'm taking a few blog days off this weekend. So, in advance, I'd like to wish everyone out there in blog land, a Happy New Year 2008! Youtube video above) This was my first calendar year of blogging, and I cannot believe that I have been blogging (off and on) for the past year and a half.
For those of you who have known me for a while (like a year), you know that I attempted video blogging about a year ago and did not have the best experience. Now, with a new year comes new opportunities. Or, maybe I'm just stubborn. Either way, I've decided to try this video blogging thing out again.
