Normally you would think that if a player, in this case Robert Andino, hit is first major league home run, and a walk-off game winner at that, against the Mets it would lead to a celebration lasting until the wee hours of the morning -- Sadly that wasn't the case. Andino hastily dressed at his locker moments after his first career homer propelled the Marlins to a 5-4, 10-inning win over the Mets at Dolphin Stadium Tuesday. The revelry ended as soon as he saw the text messages from his wife, Renee. A man knocked at the door... lire la suite

Robert Andino started taking reps in center field. During extra batting practice,Robert Andinotook fly balls in center field. The Marlins could use the utility infielder there in an emergency. Robert Andino will soon be 24 (April 25th, in case you want to buy him a gift) and I'm sure he doesn't mind the extra time in Majors which includes a fatter paycheck. And Andino may prove to be an excellent center fielder but something about this seems forced to me and he needs to be playing regularly at some level, preferably in the infield.
Robert Andino when he finally got in a game could, metaphorically, hear the crickets chirping and watch thetumble weeds roll by. Just ask Robert Andino, a backup infielder who was sent in to play center field in Oakland on Saturday after Alfredo Amezaga went out with a groin injury. It was the first time Andino had ever played the outfield. Shouldn't have been much of a problem since I'm sure Robert has learned to entertain himself with all of that time he spends riding the pine.
Robert Andino is still with the club because of his versatility.
It caught me by surprise on Saturday when Robert Andino actually played in a game. Yes, you are reading this right,Robert Andino got to play. Robert Andino made his outfield debut Saturday when he replaced injured CF Alfredo Amezaga. Andino, who played his first 105 career games in the infield, made two putouts, including one in his first inning in center.
Robert Andino became the fifth PCL player to achieve the feat this season, going 5-for-6 with two RBIs in the Albuquerque Isotopes' 16-8 rout of the New Orleans Zephyrs at Isotopes Park on Thursday.
