While we've been waiting patiently for any word on a Unreal Tournament 3 release date for the 360 we couldn't help but let our mind wonder about what extra content Epic would be packing in our edition. Seeing that Epic is known to add additional goods to game releases months down the road (here's looking at you Gears of War PC). And our bonus content dreams have been confirmed. Epic Games just revealed that the Xbox 360 edition of UT3 will feature all the previously released PS3 and PC content as well as five additional maps not available on any other edition, two new characters (Master Chief?) and the addition of local split screen. High fives all around! No release date has been announced though, but there is a new trailer which we've embedded above. Enjoy and look forward to the exclusive UT3 content headed our way, because we all know custom content isn't going to happen.
There are very few franchises in the role-playing genre that have maintained a top level of quality throughout it's lifespan, the Tales series is one of them. Widely regarded as one of the finest second-tier role-playing games (here in the West), the Tales series dates back to the Super Famicom so a new installment was to be expected. Namco Bandi recently revealed Tales of Vesperia, the latest in the franchise, is exclusive to the Xbox 360 - for now. The tenth in the series hitting the X360 echoes a strong backing for the western-made console by Namco Bandai, who have previously released Beautiful Katamari, Ace Combat 6 and Eternal Sonata on the Microsoft platform. While the title is currently an Xbox 360 exclusive everyone, including the game's director Yoshito Higuchi, expects the title to find it's way onto the PlayStation 3 eventually. During an interview with Play Magazine Higuchi was very direct when asked if the title would ever breathe life on Sony's platform. "Yes, I won't deny the possibility," Higuchi told Play. "But we're not thinking about it yet-there are so many other things to concentrate on first."
Filed under: News, Xbox Live Arcade When Portal: Still Alive was first announced at E3 2008 it was touted as an Xbox 360 exclusive in 2008. In PR practitioner speak that means the game could see life on other platforms after 2008 but, according to Valve, that isn't the case. "I'd call that today's rumor," a Valve rep told CVG regarding a possible PSN version of Portal: Still Alive. "You're smart to ask. But no." Portal: Still Alive is the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade, standalone map expansion, game based on the Portal: The Flash Version map pack which is currently available on PC for free -- which you can download now at Big Download. For free. Did we mention it's free? Hey ... wait a minute! Oh, we guess Valve meant console exclusive. By the way, totally free on PC right now. Get it.
Today EA, MTV and Harmonix have confirmed the UK release of Rock Band is set for May 23. News of a release date has been expected for quite some time; however, in an unexpected coup Harmonix has announced the popular music rhythm game will be a timed exclusive for everyone's favorite HD-platform. In a press release early this morning Harmonix confirmed the Xbox 360 version Rock Band will hit the UK in "an exclusive launch window of May 23," while other platforms will see the title released later this summer. However, the news may not be as peachy as UK gamers would like. Considering the popularity of the game Stateside, Microsoft has definitely stolen one of the biggest releases out from under Sony's nose -- in a heavily pro-Sony market. While the exclusivity may boost the sales of the Xbox 360 in the region we wonder how UK gamers will feel swallowing the steep price to get their rock on.
