Window's XP Service Pack 3 has gone to manufacture, according to its release manager, who posted the news on Microsoft's forums. And April 29 is the date that we'll be able to get our unwashed paws on it, via the web. Full text is after the jump. Today we are happy to announce that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) has released to manufacturing (RTM).
Windows XP SP3 will start shipping to manufacturers and IT workers next Monday, 4/21. The Following Tuesday, 4/29, it will be made available for download over Windows Update. This is the final version of SP3, following the RC1 and RC2 builds offered earlier in the year, which promises to boost performance by 10% and network access protection.

Ce coup ci c'est sur, Windows XP SP3 sera disponible en téléchargement à partir du 29 avril. Dans un premier temps prévu pour l'année 2007, puis retardé jusqu'à fin mars puis encore repoussé à mi-avril, c'est finalement fin avril que XP SP3 sera disponible. Pas de doute, Microsoft aura su nous faire patienter en annonçant au fer et à mesure des dates toujours plus lointaines.
