• Cupcake interview: Donna, owner of London's Buttercup Cake Shop

  While I was in London about a month ago, I visited London's Buttercup Cake Shop (no affiliation with New York's Buttercup Bake Shop. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to properly write it up, but I can tell you the cupcakes were DELICIOUS. Truly amazing and some of the best I've ever had, especially the banofee and sticky toffee ones (also the Elvis, with peanut butter frosting, was quite yummy).

  Chicagoist reports on new Chicago bakery Molly's Cupcakes: Molly's Cupcakes, located at 2536 N. Clark (between Wrightwood and Deming), opened just a week ago. Combining the right blend of food, hospitality, and kitsch, we don't envision it having any trouble finding a warm spot in the hearts of Lakeview denizens. Although they also offer brownies, mini-pies, and other baked goods, cupcakes are obviously Molly's prime offering.

  Erin from the blog Spice Dish has kindly let us repost this delicious-looking recipe for cupcake ice cream! The only place I've had cupcake ice cream is in Atlanta during a trip to the bakery Sweet Pockets - that was red velvet ice cream and was delicious (not from Sweet Pockets, but in the same indoor mall). And I guess technically it was red velvet cake ice cream, not cupcake ice cream, but I think that counts for our purposes here.
