Nice Girls Finish Last
Didn’t mean to scare anyone - I just needed some time off to refine my direction here and revamp the site to fit in the advertising that’s going to make me millions (of fractions of pennies) and keep me swathed in fancy photo equipment! Honestly, I had been kicking around the idea of quitting for several months, but I just can’t pull the trigger. So rather than continue to put out belated old-news drivel that at least for me.lire la suite

- Discarded Peanut Shells
Discarded Peanut Shells May 29, 2008 A couple of catch up items here as I glow over Little Chatter’s first band concert. He was first chair (clarinet)! After emailing out pictures to the family, responses ranged from “Very cute!” (grandpa) to, “Aww! He looks just like you did!” (grandma). So there you have it! While I have that swell of pride that my kid looks like me.
- Discarded Peanut Shells - the ghost of maple bats
Discarded Peanut Shells - the ghost of maple bats June 24, 2008 * The splintering maple bats issue is rearing its head more prominently as Major League Baseball is beginning to do something about the danger issue. If by “having a meeting” is doing something. I suppose any resolution remains to be seen. Even commenter ‘greg’ over at the DC Sports Bog mentioned an incident last night at the Nats game.

Discarded Peanut Shells : And your Nationals All-Star Rep Is July 7, 2008 · Obviously Cristian Guzman! Congrats to him. That’s about as excited as I can get about it right now. Nate, on the other hand, is probably ecstatic. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still watch the game and enjoy it and hope Guzman gets at least an inning of playing time - or maybe a pinch hit. · On another topic.

Discarded Peanut Shells - Can’t Quit My Day Job September 23, 2008 So the end of the 4th season of Washington Nationals baseball is drawing near as they begin their final home series tonight against the Marlins. I’ve had some kick-butt experiences this year, but I know I haven’t been blogging as much or as well as in previous seasons. I think that’s a direct result of a combination of factors.
- Discarded Peanut Shells: I used to love Friday Night Lights
But now after seeing Buzz Bissinger stereotype and attack blogs, I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again! Nah, I’m reasonable and can separate the show from the writer. I mean, if they ever air anymore episodes. (Warning: video has strong language). King Kaufman is awesome. Former Nationals are getting cut left and right around the league. Brad Wilkerson is the latest victim. Brian Schneider has been released from the hospital after a staph infection in his thumb.
- Discarded Peanut Shells : Put Up Your Dukes for the 2008 Schedule
Whew, sorry! Home’s been busy, work’s been busy, ’tis the season and all that! I was planning on doing more (including a That’s Chat’s Nats episode) about the holiday lighting, but I guess it’s a little late for that now, eh? I didn’t score any interviews (nor did I try), and my pictures pretty much showed what happened. A picture’s worth a thousand words and all that, so you got a book’s worth out of the event.
- Discarded Peanut Shells : Livo and Schneider Reuniting?
· Too bad it’s for the wrong team. According to the Rocky Mountain News, the Mets are close to signing Livo (from what they overheard). I find the battery reunion far more interesting than the reunion they cited - Livo with his brother, Orlando Hernandez. I mean, that’s cool too. · I forgot to mention last night that Tim Redding is short-bearded again. More on that in the video coming Sunday.

MASN Stuff: I have to say, those spots on MASN and the scoreboard featuring Lastings Milledge and Austin Kearns and others where Milledge is primping because the fans are seventeen feet closer to the field crack me up!! They get my full endorsement! Way better than the, “Who you gonna pitch, XXXX” ads last year. I just saw a commercial on MASN before the Phillies game where Debbi Taylor is doing a mock “how to interview players” class.
