  Filed under: NewsEA Sports' new "Freestyle" brand will feature more casual sports games than the Madden-type stuff found under the main EA Sports brand -- think EA Sports BIG, but in 2008. The first game to come out under the brand will be FaceBreaker, the cartoony boxing game. • Man Uses Wii Balance Board to Move A Robot, Plans to Move People Too [Nintendo]

  Juan González has hacked together a simple setup that lets his Wii Balance board move a small, irritating robot in any direction. This looks like the first robotic pairing for the board, which has to date has only been interfaced with computers as a control device to awkwardly navigate games and mapping applications. It's pretty clear that González is excited about this hack (watch the end of the video).

Sega has plans for your Nintendo peripherals, so you might be dusting them off in the near future. During an interview, SEGA of America president Simon Jeffrey commented that Sega is "fans of the Wii Zapper" and that their game Ghost Squad "keeps selling.

  Filed under: News, WiiWare Long-time 1080 Snowboarding fans take heed -- Giles Goddard is hard at work creating a new WiiWare game. The main programmer for the Nintendo 64 classic is leading development with Vitei (those crazy Theta guys), and he confirmed to Cubed3 that the game will utilize the capabilities of the Balance Board. Must be another bodacious snowboarding game.
