Baseball: Gerard Haran has been tearing up the Atlantic League with the best team in Independent Baseball. As of writing this post, Gerard is tied for fourth on the Newark Bears in batting average with a .
In an effort to distinguish its Entertainment division from the Athlete Representation business, Dynasty has created a separate platform for its models and actors. When the last Dynasty Notes was published, I was going through a very hectic period, juggling all of the legalities involved in the buyout of my ex-partner, Matthew Vuckovich along with determining what course Dynasty Athlete Representation, LLC would take in the future.
Trying a slightly new format here for a change. Do you like it organized by category below? Anyway, a ton going on in this very busy summer. As I am sure you are aware, Dynasty acquired an agency that represents coaches. We have additionally begun our recruiting efforts in football and basketball.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of answering a few interview questions for the very popular sports website, Hugging Harold Reynolds. HHR has started a new column titled, So You Want to Work in Sports? where they will be interviewing 20 and 30-something-year-olds in various careers in professional, amateur and collegiate sports to get a take on how they broke into their respective industries and to offer tips how ambitious sports-related job seekers might do the same.

Todd Crannell, 31, left his job last February as director of the sports division of the Irene Marie Management Group in Miami Beach, Fla. a talent agency that specializes in representing people in the fashion and entertainment industry, such as musicians, actors, and models. Since then Crannell has started his own boutique firm, Q2 Sports & Entertainment, which operates out of New York and currently services various Hollywood and MTV-linked celebrities, models and track & field athletes.
Ben Silverman is the hard-partying, 37-year golden boy of NBC's entertainment division, and until this week had only one real blemish on his record: the conflict of interest in his buying for NBC.
At a time when major media organizations are cutting back on the most vital news coverage, how discomforting to know that some are increasing their celebrity reporting instead. I've learned that the venerable Associated Press is finally making good on its promise to pour major dollars into beefing up its already huge entertainment coverage by hiring an additional 21 new employees in 2008 spread across Los Angeles, New York and London.

So now we know with whom David Geffen has been negotiating all these many months. I can confirm tonight that DreamWorks has secured $500 million to $600 million from India's big entertainment conglomerate Reliance and then will add $500 million to $600 million in debt for what will be a total $1.
Microsoft (MSFT) is in an interesting place at the moment - which is only in part to losing Bill Gates from day-today management. It created one of the dominant global businesses of the late 20^th century but has struggled to move beyond the core products that drove this success. The Client (Windows), Server and Tools (enterprise solutions) and MBD (Office) divisions drive 83% of revenues and over 100% of operating profits (the On-line Services and Entertainment divisions are still operating at a loss).
Congratulations to Dynasty’s Football Division Director, Matthew Watkins.
