Colts player you miss the most
I talk a lot about how I really liked layers like Booger McFarland, Edgerrin James, and David Thornton. All are good people, and made a lasting impression on the team and community. I'd kind of like to know who you miss the most. I recently did a piece on draft busts (as did Colt Homer), but I'd like to balance the negativity of talking about busts by talking about players you miss.
For me, I miss watching Booger McFarland, mainly because his short tenure in Indy totally changed the defense. Not only did he anchor the Super Bowl 41 team.

Colts players you miss: Complete with pictures to make you cry
Based off yesterday's thread, I've compiled the following list of players we all miss. Now, it's time to determine who is the most missed. Who is the one player, out of all of these, that you'd like to see back? Adjust the person's age accordingly. For example, yes Marcus Pollard is ancient, but I'd love to have Marcus two or three years ago still on this team. You all know my favorite: Booger McFarland. but my opinion is adjusted to the fleeting hope that he is healthy, which it seems he isn't. But, if he were, I'd like him back. Here are the other former-Colts you all mentioned: Edgerrin James, #32, RB (1999-2005) Read shake n bake's article to gain a full appreciation of this future Hall of Fame running back. He lead the league in rushing as a rookie and top over 2. [lien] [EN]
Know Your Colts History: You Can Do It Too!
So by now you've probably heard that Tony Dungy has written a children's book. While I'm slightly put off by him being referred to as New York Times Bestselling Author Tony Dungy, rather than Super Bowl World Champion & Head Coach of the Most Awesomest Team Ever Tony Dungy, it's still nice to see Tony come out with a book for the kids. At least we know that it's going to be far better than this one. In all the hoopla surrounding Tony's new book, you might not have heard that former Colts coach Jim Mora is also writing a children's book. Luckily here at Stampede Blue we were able to pull some strings and we've been able to obtain a pre-release copy of the book which will be coming out later this year. After the jump, you'll get your first sneak peek at Jim's new book for kids about football. [lien] [EN]
Know Your Colts History: Goodbye, Golf Cart
For most of the week, I thought about using KYCH to talk about the whole Marvin Harrison situation, since it has dominated the water cooler talk in Colt circles this week. But after some consideration, I decided not to go with it since like most of you, I"m still not really sure what even happened. All I know is something went down in a rough area of Philadelphia involving a gun, Marvin Harrison, a ninja, and a Belgian...or something to that effect. If I didn't know any better I'd say that's the start of a really weird joke, with a dumb punchline. Anyways, while I was looking for some different stuff on the Marvin situation, I was checking on Facebook to see if any "Free Marvin!" groups had popped up yet. Thankfully, none have been made yet, which is good considering that he hasn't even been charged with anything. [lien] [EN]
Know Your Colts History: Must Improve
In between vomits during the NBA Draft, I noticed that ESPN was doing this thing with every player they'd list his the player's weakest attribute by saying Must Improve:[Fill in the blank]. Most of the time it was fairly typical stuff like Must Improve: Strength or Must Improve: Jump Shot, except when you'd see stuff like Must Improve: Intelligence or Must Improve: Experience. It got me thinking about what some Colts players of past and present would have have listed if they had to go through draft night again: KENTON KEITH - Must Improve: Hands STEVE EMTMAN - Must Improve: Injuring himself every other play COREY SIMON - Must Improve: Food intake His arms are thicker than Reggie Wayne's waist! DOMINIC RHODES - Must Improve: Bladder strength JEFF GEORGE . [lien] [EN]
Alyssa Milano swears off baseball players
Alyssa Milano has sworn off dating baseball players, because they are too childish. The actress admits she is a huge fan of the sport, and even dreams of being a star slugger. But, after dating Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brad Penny and Atlanta Braves star Tom Glavine, she’s determined to court more mature men, like her current mystery beau, known only as “David”. Milano says, “They are grown men playing a little boy’s sport. That makes them childish.” The actress, who has designed a range of Major League Baseball-approved sportswear and has her own baseball blog, admits she’s such a huge fan of the sport, she dreams up game scenarios when she’s trying to get to sleep. She adds, “My stress reliever is usually baseball. In fact, sometimes when I can’t sleep - because my mind is racing . [lien] [EN]
2008 Indianapolis Colts Training Camp: TE Battles
Tom Santi via The Sabre.Com With Ben Utecht gone to Cincy and Bryan "Mr. Suggestion" Fletcher cut a few months ago, the battle to play the #2 TE position is between Tom Santi (rookie), Jacob Tamme (rookie), and Gijon Robinson (2nd year player). Understand, the #2 TE is not a "backup" to Dallas Clark. At its core, the Colts offense is a base 2 TE offense. So, when you see Colts in 3 WR, even with Clark lined up as the slot guy, it is still not the base offense. The Colts like the 2 TE because they can both run and pass from the formation with great affect, and it is one of the reasons why Tamme and Santi were drafted this year. The Colts want to go back to more 2 TE formations. However, to do that, someone must step up in training camp and take the job. [lien] [EN]
Know Your Colts History: The All Name Team
In life there are people who have been blessed with great names, but sports are the only place where you can become more well liked because your name sounds cool. Admit it, there are players you root for just because you like their name rolls off your tounge. You know this conversation has happened at least once in your life: You: Oh, James Thrash just made that catch! I love that guy! Your friend: Why do you like James Thrash? You: To be honest, I'm not really sure. Your friend: Is it because of his receiving skills? You: Uh, not really. Your friend: Is it because you like the Redskins? You: Yeah, definitely not. Your friend: Is it because you're in to thrash music? You. [lien] [EN]
Strange reversal: Colts are signing Titans players, not vice versa
I guess we Colts fans can take a certain measure of pride in Tennessee's 10-0 start. I mean, Tennessee has spent the last few years plucking free agents from the Colts in an effort to build up their team. Many of the players they poached were on the teams that started 13-0, 9-0, and 7-0 the last three years. Their defense's veteran foundation is built around LB David Thornton and CB Nick Harper. Their offensive line, one of the best in football, was strengthened this past off-season with the signing of OG Jake Scott. Last year, the Titans also signed DT Corey Simon and TE Ben Hartstock. Both are no longer with the Titans. All these players mentioned were Colts players prior to signing with the Titans. Needless to say, the Titans have long been admirers of Bill Polian's drafting genius probably because the Titans are so bad at drafting themselves (Vince Young). [lien] [EN]
Now You Tell Me!
When the 2008 Tour schedule came out, I picked through and chose the events I thought I could make and get into. Last night’s “Smart CEO Future 50″ event featuring Manny Acta as the keynote speaker was not one of them. I just received a phone call from Mr. Chatter and as it turns out, the CEO of the company he’s contracted to for years was one of the chosen CEOs for the event, and so a couple of his coworkers were in fact there and one said, “Oh, we totally could have taken you with us!” Now you tell me!! I was slaving over zesting and juicing limes and chopping mint for another batch of MissChatter’s famous Mojitos for a party tonight when I could have been hobnobbing and received a bag with a bobblehead inside! Apparently, the table’s conversation turned to, “if you had to pick a professional athlete to date. [lien] [EN]

Swap HD DVD Players for Blu-ray Players at Circuit City
If there’s one thing HD DVD players are good for these days, it’s promoting creativity. Finding something to do with your now-a-big-hunk-of-doorstop is great for exercising your cerebrum, but not so great for watching new HD movies. If you’d like to try the latter, watch some new HD movies that is, then Circuit City may be your friend. You won’t find this program advertised anywhere, but there is a bit of solace for Circuit City customers who have purchased an HD DVD player within the past three months. Take your box-O-useless back over to your local Circuit City store and you will be given a credit for the entire purchase price of the unit. The credit can then be applied towards the purchase of a new Blu-ray player. [lien] [EN]
Microsoft: Your Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Is Still Awesome [Hd Dvd]
Game Daily had a chat with Microsoft Game Studios VP Shane Kim about the Xbox 360, and one of the topics that came up was the defunct (but cheap!) HD DVD player, which you might still be tempted to eBay for $1.25. But you shouldn't! Kim effuses sentimentally about why you should hang it onto it, which is odd considering how nonchalantly other Microsoft execs have been brushing it off: While it is unfortunate that HD DVD was discontinued, there is still enjoyment to be had from your Xbox 360 HD DVD Player. You can take this as an opportunity to build out your movie collection! There are around 500 HD DVD movies to choose from and many at great deals, so there is a fair amount of content for HD DVD on the market. It also is a terrific DVD player and it allows you to have game discs and movie discs. [lien] [EN]
Microsoft Stops Supporting MSN Music DRM, Tells You To Hurry Up And Transfer Your Songs [Drm]
David says: Yet another reason not to buy DRM music. They are telling us that we have to burn our music to CD format since no additional computers or devices can be authorized after August 31, 2008. So let's see. Burn to CD, then rip said CD to MP3. Couldn't they just give us a tool to do it for us, just this once? David forwarded a copy of the email Microsoft sent him about the expiring DRM. Reading it gives us a headache. MSN Music is constantly striving to provide you, our user, with the most compelling music experience that we can. We want to tell you about an upcoming change to our support service to ensure you have a seamless experience with the music you've downloaded from MSN Music. As you may recall from a November 14, 2006 mail, we entered into a new partnership for music downloads. [lien] [EN]
