• Britney Spears Goes Christmas Caroling With Ellen DeGeneres

  Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres spread a little holiday cheer in L.A. last Friday. The singer - who just turned 27 last week - and the talk show host hit the street in old-fashioned dresses to sing a few Christmas Carols. Spears donned a festive red crushed velvet hoop gown, tartan shawl and bonnet for the outing, while DeGeneres chose a mistletoe-topped bonnet and green crushed velvet outfit.

  Taylor Swift appeared and performed on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The almost-19-year-old country superstar sang her hit song “White Horse” and told a great story about being raised on a Christmas Tree farm. She shared, “Yes! I did [grow up on a Christmas Tree farm], so this is a good season for me. I was too young to help with the hauling of the trees up the hills and putting them onto cars.

  Beyonce will help NBC kicks off the holiday season on Wednesday, December 3 (8-9PM ET/PT) with the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree during the 11th annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” telecast. Today’s Al Rokerwill host the live holiday celebration of the 76th Tree Lighting Ceremony. The star-studded annual tree lighting extravaganza will also have performances of current hits and holiday classics from David Cook.

  Miley Cyrus films new scenes for Hannah Montana at a studio in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon. The 15-year-old Disney sensation was accompanied by her momager Tish and older sister Brandi. Earlier that morning, Miley was seen wearing a Louisiana State University Tigers tee and a Fendi messenger bag. “Special friend” Justin Gaston was seen out and about in Beverly Hills around the same time.

  The Chicago Tribune confirms that Christmas is creeping up earlier this year as skittish retailers try to stay ahead of the ever-crescendoing non-recession. Walgreens, Kohls, and Home Depot were all singled out for defying the calendar, but blame also belongs with consumers who fuel seasonal ignorance with their buying choices. Chandra Greer, owner of a luxury paper store in Old Town, decided to jump on the Christmas creep bandwagon for the first time this year.
