Michael Stelzner of Writing White Papers has announced the winners of his second-annual Top 10 Blogs for Writers. I’m honored to say that Copyblogger came out on top for a second year. There are many great blogs that are repeating from last year, plus some really strong new blogs that have made the list. Make sure you’re reading them all (they’re listed below with Michael’s comments). Thanks again to Michael and congrats to all the winners and nominees. · Copyblogger, by Brian Clark: Holding the number-one spot f... lire la suite

Images: Roller-coaster, an image from the "Museum of Nature" by photographer Ilkka Halso]. April was a month full of interviews and weird surprises – such as popping up in Time magazine as one of their Style & Design 100 blogs for 2007. But seeing as Time's 2007 pick for Man of the Year is Vladimir Putin, I'm not sure that distinction means very much.
As we inch towards the ledge that is 2008 I am taking a lot of time for reflection. I'm thinking about transition and change and how we never know exactly where we'll land and how we'll feel about arriving there, even though we think, with all our planning and list-making and contriving, we can control everything.
The end of the year compels a lot of people to take stock of the past 12 months. To think of the highs and the lows and the moments that will go down in their life history as THE moments that defined the year. It compels people to start making lists, and all kinds of year in review lists will appear in the media- best books, best movies, most news-worthy moments, sports records that were broken.
Food bloggers from around the world are sharing their best moments of the year 2007, and you are invited to take a look! Blog Action Day 2007 Today is Blog Action Day - a day for bloggers to help get people thinking and talking about the environment. These days the environment is on everyone's mind as things like global warming become reality and not just a future worry. If you're not already convinced that you personally need to take steps to try to minimize your impact on the environment, I will leave the convincing to other, more eloquent writers (thousands of which you should be hearing from today).
Happy Thanksgiving! Here are some links to blogs by other plastic surgeons you may be interested in: Plastic Surgery 101 : Dr. Rob Oliver's blog provides a nice commentary on plastic surgery and medicine in general. He covers some of the medical liability, reform, and general plastic surgery subjects which can be beyond the scope of my blog.
Photo of Mrs. Beasley's cupcakes from Flickr user jleighb The L. A. Times ran a story today on cupcakes, largely focusing on Mrs. Beasley's, that has a few quotes from me as well: Few details of Paris Hilton's jailhouse drama enraptured the media as much as the imprisoned celebutante's oft-described craving for Mrs.

From Flickr user razzleswirl Daily Candy can't seem to make up its mind whether it loves or hates cupcakes, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt since their various city sites do post quite often about cupcakes. And now, Seattle bakery Trophy Cupcakes founder/owner Jennifer Shea has been nominated for one of Daily Candy's Favorites of 2007 in the Taste category.
