Merry Christmas 2007

[Guest post by DRJ] This Merry Christmas is brought to you by HRH HM Queen Elizabeth II, courtesy of YouTube (embedding disabled by request). She also has a MySpace profile but there are no blog entries yet but her “About Me” section is pretty impressive. Our home is far more humble but our family sends best holiday wishes from our house to yours. – DRJ [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas 2007

Where the heck did this year go? I hope you all are having a great evening with your families. But looking at Twitter and at my feed reader I can tell that some of you are still up. Maybe wrapping presents. But probably trying to escape last-minute chores like me. There are a few things, though, that came through my feed reader that’s interesting. 1. LeWeb3’s videos are now online. Right now I’m watching some sessions I missed including one by a Google employee talking about the Web’s impact on corporate culture. 2. Paul Stamatiou is wondering if it’s time to start an HD startup. Paul: be careful here. HD video is too hard to deal with from a workflow standpoint. It’s a lot time away from going mainstream and sites like SmugMug have the best idea — they charge their users to upload HD. [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas 2007

It’s a little belated - but a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone. Right now, the whole family is in Orlando (yes the Disney thing). I’ll sure be reporting on some interesting experience, including car rental tips, hotel tips and some interesting stuff that has already happened in the last couple of days. Merry Christmas!

My boyfriend had a cute idea for our holiday card this year: dress Winston up in this cat Santa costume we have (do not ask why we have it in the first place. Really. Please don't.), and pose him next to a menorah (boyfriend and Rudy are Jews) and then Photoshop Rudy's heads where the flames would be on the candles. It didn't work out. The best thing that came of maybe 45 minutes of clenched teeth, pissy cats that move like Stevie Wonder whenever a camera comes within 10 feet, repeated use of the word "fuck" and an argument of the logistics of shrinking Rudy's head in post production, this is about the only good thing that came to be: It's cute, but not exactly card material. I didn't want to scrap the idea entirely, though, so I decided that for this blog, I'd make sort of a video Christmas card. [lien] [EN]

Happy Holidays (or Merry Christmas as we PICs used to say in the good old days)

art and biomed Happy Holidays (or Merry Christmas as we PICs used to say in the good old days) Just as I was leaving home for the last day in the office before the break, this pic came in from Vanessa @ Street Anatomy: a petri dish midwinter holiday season (now I got it right!) decoration — the black is said to be a yeast commonly found near bathroom sinks:   (thanks to Niall Hamilton, via Street Anatomy). Everyone else here at Biomedicine on Display is taking a break too — there may come some occasional postings, so don’t keep us out of sight entirely, though. [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas To You All!

We’re celebrating pretty heavily these last couple of days so I may be “out of it” for a while… well, until tomorrow I guess. But I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for the season. [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Tuesday, December 25th, 2007 Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all of you got the gifts you wanted (unfortunately for me, I didn’t find Mary Elizabeth Winstead waiting for me under the tree this morning). Have a safe and happy holiday, from all of us here at Popoholic. [lien] [EN]

Communist China Says Merry Christmas, But Capitalist Google Won't

Well, here is a sad commentary on the fellow travelers over at Internet mega-corp, Google. Their Christmas graphic eschews that evil "Ch_ _ stmas" word giving us a bow and candy cane, instead. Apparently, Google doesn't want to cause any outrage by using the words "Merry Christmas." Yet, the communists over at China Daily's on line news/propaganda site doesn't seem to have the slightest problem wishing us all a Merry Christmas as the graphic at the top of their mainpage shows! What a sad commentary when even our Godless, communist enemies can say "Merry Christmas" but an ostensibly western, capitalist company won't do the same! Merry Christmas to all you all, no matter what Google says! Yours, Warner Todd Huston [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas

I've watched a bunch and this one still rocks the most. Santa sat in the freezing rain all night long to bring my son a wii…so I'll be excusing myself to enjoy my son's present today…plus the wife said I'm not allowed to blog anyway. So…enjoy what I left. Merry Christmas! [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas one & all…

From all of those that write here, to all of those that read… Merry Christmas, and where-ever you are, I hope that it’s a joyous occasion.  In my humble opinion, Bing sung it best. I’m dreaming of a white Christmas  Just like the ones I used to know  Where the treetops glisten,  and children listen  To hear sleigh bells in the snow  I’m dreaming of a white Christmas  With every Christmas card I write  May your days be merry and bright  And may all your Christmases be white  I’m dreaming of a white Christmas  With every Christmas card I write  May your days be merry and bright  And may all your Christmases be white… [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas Steve Nash, But Can Kobe Bryant Have His Jock Back Now?

Merry Christmas Steve Nash, But Can Kobe Bryant Have His Jock Back Now? (AP Photo/Gus Ruelas) Yeah Grant, he got you Andrew Bynum (11-13 shooting for a career high 28) and Kobe Bryant (38 pts., 8 dimes) went off on the Suns this Christmas day as the Lakers beat Phoenix 122-115. Nash had a nice game with 24 and 14 but damn, do the Suns ever play D? Grant, you know you are my man, but Richard Dumas Trevor Ariza banged it on you bruh. I guess you know how Nash felt last year. At least you were nice enough to be a little more judicious with your hands. ‘Sup with that Steve ?   Bynum is fast becoming a star. Do not sleep on the Lakers as this kid continues to grow into his limitless potential. Posted this video in the second part of Jemele’s first interview. [lien] [EN]

Merry Christmas!

I’m back in beautiful Seattle for the first time in a year, and it feels good. Last night my mom, sister and I went downtown to look at the lights and window-shop, then came home with all intentions of going to Church but ended up cooking (crab cakes and coconut-curry mussels) and then watching Act I of “When the Levees Broke” (see it if you haven’t). Today we’re doing the usual slow Christmas breakfast followed by presents, and my auntie is coming over for a dinner that my little sister will be cooking. I asked for some furniture for my apartment for Christmas, so I suspect that I have mostly socks and maybe a new toothbrush under the tree, and I’ll have to wait for my return to New York for UPS-Santa to deliver the goods. But it’s nice being at home with my sister (who is the funniest and most entertaining person I know) and my mom — who has been bending over backwards to make our time home absolutely perfect. Merry Christmas!

I hope you are enjoying time with your family and/or friends this holiday season. May this post find you happy, healthy, and enjoying the spirit of Christmas. I'm thankful that my son, who's been sick the last couple days, is finally feeling better just in time for Christmas. May God bless you all this holiday season. Thanks for reading.
