NASA Night Launch un thème Firefox sur la Nasa.
Looks like warehouse club chain Sam's Club had so much fun at their Super Smash Bros. Brawl midnight launch, they've decided to do another one, only this time for another game, because otherwise it would just be silly. Mario Kart Wii shall be the focus of this midnight launch, the second in Sam's Club history, with players and parents of players able to line up at stores across the country on April 26th to await the stroke of midnight and assuage their driving ambition.
Filed under: News, Fan stuff Click to dippa-size it Unlike what Richard faced at Wal-Mart while picking up his copy of Grand Theft Auto IV at midnight, I saw me some crazy lines! Every gamer in Mississauga (near Toronto aka the Greater Toronto Area) must have turned up for the title because lines were huge!
Why don't you check! GameStop have been sending out emails over the past few days, tipping customers off to the fact they'll be open at midnight for the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4. Only catch: not every GameStop will be open. Just some! And by some, I mean hundreds. Their list runs for 29 pages, so if your local store (or at least, a store near you) isn't on there, you may wish to consider your geographic isolation, and ask a friend via telegram or carrier pigeon to pick a copy up for you.
Best Buy has more than 1,400 stores across the United States, and to celebrate the launch of Bethesda's Fallout 3 next week, they're going to open up a whole twelve of them at midnight! A whole twelve! But I know what you're saying. With so many choices, which do I attend? Your best bet would probably be the one located in Rockville, Maryland, home store to Bethesda Softworks themselves.
Filed under: Fan stuff, Guitar Hero World Tour Tired of all the Presidential coverage? Want to go British for a day? Activision has you covered. Best Buy and Activision have revealed plans to launch the Quantum of Solace game at midnight for players in the West Hollywood area.
Filed under: Fan stuff So, Grand Theft Auto IV officially launches tonight at midnight (perhaps you've heard). For many gamers, this means standing in line at they're local retailer, whether it be Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or GameStop, or elsewhere. Standing in line, generally speaking, isn't the most entertaining of activities.
Despite being told the site wouldn’t launch until Wednesday, it looks like NBC News launched Nightly. msnbc. com tonight. You can check it out now. The site features a large video player with a lot of “web only” clips. I’m a huge fan of content being produced that compliments what is aired, and this [.
You might not remember the Mansell GameStop store from the Grand Theft Auto IV launch, but GameStop certainly does. Back in April, when GTA IV launched, I did a piece comparing the lively, cheery event held at the Windward Parkway location in Alpharetta versus the rather staid, everyone just standing in line deal held at the Mansell location, and GameStop corporate took notice, relaying their displeasure in a memo that branded me "The Tale of Two GameStops" guy at the store.
Millions of people will be lining up around midnight on Wednesday evening for the launch of World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, but the lining up promises to be much more entertaining at the Best Buy at 44th Street and 5th Avenue in New York, New York. That's Blizzard's chosen store for East Coast Wrath-tivities, with co-founders CEO Mike Morhaime and executive VP of product development Frank Pearce on hand to sign copies of the game.
You knew that GameStop wouldn't let something as big as the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots launch go by without burning the midnight oil to get PlayStation 3 owners the game as soon as humanly possible. The games retailer has announced that over 1,500 stores will be hosting special launch day events tomorrow, featuring trivia contests, a Big Boss costume contest, and special sneak-peaks at the game leading up to the 12:
If I were a GameStop employee right now I would be so very sick of midnight openings, unless of course I worked at the Universal CityWalk location in Los Angeles, where they'll be hosting the official “‘Gears of War 2' Midnight Mayhem” event. Dude "Cliff Bleszinski" Huge himself will be heading up an all-star lineup of talent from the game, including John Di Maggio, the voice of Marcus Fenix and Futurama's Bender.
Filed under: Wii Warm Up In Japan, game launch parties are associated with personal appearances from games' creators, free stuff, and huge lines. In the U. S. however, they're all business, generally just an opportunity to get a game a little early. The Nintendo World Store is an obvious exception to this rule, with crazy, publicized launch events taking place for every big Nintendo game.
Are you the best Super Smash Bros. player in the United States? GameStop wants you to prove it. Along with midnight launches at over 2,500 locations, the retailer has announced a nationwide Super.
Filed under: NewsIf getting Grand Theft Auto IV when the clock strikes midnight on Tuesday, April 29th is of uber importance, then you'll probably have to head to either Best Buy or GameStop. And since Best Buy's midnight launches are rather minimal, that will probably leave the majority of you standing in line at GameStop.
What makes a great game launch? Some would say simply getting a highly coveted game like Grand Theft Auto IV into the hands of hungry gamers is enough, but to some of us a launch night means more than that. To some, big-name game launches are like mini gaming conventions, where we can swap stories, bitch about the way the store is handling things, and speculate on how much sleep we'll be losing over the next couple of days.
Filed under: News, Fan stuff Click to embiggen Apart from the one guy standing behind me, the image above represents the entirety of the crowd that was on hand for the midnight launch of Grand Theft Auto IV at the Woodland Hills Wal-Mart in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That's all of them.
Filed under: News, Gears of War 2 Today, Microsoft announced that Gears of War 2 has surpassed the original Gears' pre-order numbers and also informed us that it's "poised to become the must-have video game this holiday season. Can't argue that. Also as part of the press release, we're informed of all their Gears 2 launch plans and offers including a gold Lancer unlock with the limited edition, gold Hammerburst unlock given out at all 20,000 midnight launches, gameplay tips from the Epic team and a special Game with Fame weekend.
Fallout 3 fans will have more than 2,000 stores to chose from if they want to pick up the game at midnight early tomorrow morning. Among the 2,000 stores selling the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game at midnight is Best Buy, which plans to sweet the deal with events at their stores in the Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Dallas and Chicago metropolitan areas.
It's nearly time! With two weeks to go before the worldwide launch of the next World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard has outlined plans for midnight launch events around the globe. Four locations in the states will host Blizzard developers signing copies of the game, with increased copies of the Collector's Edition on hand for those of us (like me) who missed out on pre-ordering the big box.
