The crew over at Ibuildings is pretty bright and they shine a lot on their corporate blog. The most recent example of this is Ian Barber’s post titled “Dependency Injection and Zend Framework Controllers”.
Action Helpers in Zend Framework are often considered a fairly arcane subject, something for experts only. However, they are meant to be an easy way to extend the capabilities of Action Controllers, negating the need to create your own base controller with custom functionality. The aim of this tutorial is to show you how to quickly and easily create and use Action Helpers to your advantage.
I am pleased to announce the release of Zend Framework 1. now available for download on the framework website. This mini-release resolves 79 known issues and provides some additions to functionality.
We’ve gotten a lot of feedback since the 1. release of Zend Framework in June. It is my pleasure to announce the availability of Zend Framework 1. Preview Release! This release showcases features that will be introduced in the final 1. release. The intent of this release is to give our users access to the latest features in Zend Framework and to improve the overall quality of the production release through the feedback we receive.
Probably my one favorite aspects of Zend Framework is that you can pull pieces out and use them by themselves without having to build a complete MVC installation. Not that building out a complete installation is difficult but there are times when you just need a small piece, not the entire puzzle.
